I have been coming to Alvarado's for years and have always been impressed with the food and with the service. Irma is always wonderful and greets you like you have arrived in her home for a visit. I am finally officially writing a long overdue review because we just used them to cater an event for the first time. Last week, my husband and I renewed our vows and had over 20 members of our family present to celebrate with us. Irma went through all the details and recommended the perfect dishes and just the right amount of food that all our guests were completely satisfied. She worked within our budget and also within some dietary restrictions to make sure everything was just right. The order was ready right at the pick up time (even thought I made a last minute request the night before). Everything was packaged and ready to serve...it couldn't have been a better presentation or easier to serve and clean up afterward. All the guests raved about the food and the fact that many went back for seconds added validity...plus, they were all family and would have told me if they didn't love it. :). We were also happy to have had leftover beans and rice to enjoy the following day. I would recommend Alvarados for any meal and now I can also recommend their catering services confidently as well.

The folks are always very kind. Plenty of seating and good, made to order, fresh food.

Originally from San Diego county, it was hard to find a decent mexican restaurant when we moved up here. All the tacos and burritos just lacked flavor. That is, until we came across this little gem. Carne asada was so flavorful and juicy. Not like the dry ones the other places nearby has. First time trying a fried quesadilla anywhere! This was a nice little change. Something you'd see more in L.A. Finally, I consider myself a rice snob, and this one definitely passed the test! Customer service was absolutely fabulous, and constantly asked if we needed any assistance. Wish I would have asked for her name. Cant wait to go back and try the others. 100% recommend!!

Dined here on Friday. This was our second time in and it didn't disappoint. Food is great, flavorful and fresh. Love that they serve their dine-in food on plate-ware and their drinks in glassware. Owner Irma is very attentive, friendly and helpful. Restaurant was a bit busy but Irma kept things moving. It was nice to see she pretty much knew everyone that came in which means this a local favorite for many. Will continue to frequent and support this establishment.
